Open Question: what is the technical term for a daybed that's trundle raises so it's even with the original bed?Open Question: What color shutters would look good with estate grey shingles and white siding?Open Question: My room is so packed, what should I do?Okay, I'm 14, so I'm not allowed to majorly renovate. I've had the same room all my life, it was originally an office room but they converted it into a bedroom to make space for me, so its already smaller than a standard bedroom. Even worse, my step-dad decided to stick his (estimated) 7ft height, 9 ft wide, 3 ft depth cabinet in there. So that plus a dresser, twin bed, and shelving unit doesn't give me much walking space. How can I make my room more...roomy? His cabinet is full of his collection of WWII junk, and he thinks keeping it in my room will prevent it from getting damaged, but I put my feet on it all the time...shh (: Open Question: best way to secure double doors?I live on acreage in the country and Im away from home a couple of days at a time so it would be very easy to rob me. I wont post my address here. Sorry. :). I have a set of double doors on the front wall of the foundation of my home. I guess its called a walk-out basement. The doors have clips on the top and bottom that can be slide up and down to make it more secure but it still seems as flimsy as hell. I want to have two 90 degree steel brackets attached permanently to the foundation concrete walls(one on each side of the doors) and then secure the door by dropping an 8-foot steel bar into the brackets to create a more secure entry. Im thinking 4 brackets and 2 bars would be even double security. Is this a good idea or is there a better way? Thanks. Open Question: Does paint ever expire?Like the paint you paint your walls with? I bought paint back in 2004, and I found it today. I've been afraid to open the can, but would it still work? Open Question: About how much would a used full size stove cost me?Open Question: Where (UK) can I find flush mount ceiling fans?I've already checked eBay and Amazon :| I found one called Minkaaire Concept II but that's American I think and i'm unsure as to whether their fans are compatible over here.... x?x---{thanks}---x?x :) <3 Open Question: Painting my bedroom, any suggestions?I am re-painting my room, as the question states :p. It is currently dark brown sponged with light brown, and viceversa on different walls, (Not my choice) and my carpet, is unfortunately brown. My favorite color is somewhere around navy, but I have a feeling that would look odd with my carpeting. I would like to avoid browns, and I would love my room to be either dark or light.. I'm not a very "in-between person" :p So, any suggestions? Preferably one color. Thank you! :) Oh, and if you need to know anything, just ask and check back. My room already resembols poop, thanks. And becca, I was thinking somewhere along the lines of an orange or maybe even yellow. I don't know yet. Thank (: Open Question: whats a good DIY site?Open Question: creative quirky room ideas?my room's a bit blah, and i'd like to do a lot to my walls, i have a couple of ideas, but i'd like alot more, anyone have good diy room decoration ideas? or know any sites? i like creative pretty things, kay, thaanks(: Open Question: This extra room is annoying me!?Well my room is the whole upstairs, it's split into 2, and one is my bedroom, the other by the stairs just has a computer and a TV, nothing else. What could I do with it to make it useful? Since I don't have any money, because I'm only 15, it should be cheap, no remodeling, and something mom will accept, and maybe even get use out of? Thankss.
