Open Question: what should I paint with chalkboard paint?

So, I just made a room into a playroom. There is one long wall (the room is narrow) and I bought some green chalkboard paint. But I dont know what I should do with it? Should I just tape off a square and make it like a chalkboard. I was think fun shapes would be cool but I dont want to get into buying stencils. Even circles woudl be fun but how do you paint perfect circles? any ideas?

Open Question: How can you make a temporary door that's not a curtain?

I have to live in my parents basement with my fiance because we have to move because he is going to law school and I can't sell my house in this market. It's the perfect basement for such a housing emergency, totally a complete apartment, separate entrance, 3 bedrooms, family room 1 bath a small kitchen and on the ground floor since the house is on a slope. EXCEPT the stairs to the basement are open and there's no door. I want to pay top put in and have someone take out the door (my parents are currently trying to win the gold medal in the anal and uptight olympics) since they don't want the door, but that doesn't even seem acceptable. My mother is a little odd since she's a drinker and I'm her only child so she has some boundary issues. I can live there but I need a door! Is there something you can get custom sized and just slip in? Other suggestions? No screen doors, I NEED sound deadening. Plus we have dogs so it has to somewhat keep them out, though we could handle that with a baby gate further down the stairs. Help help help!

Open Question: how to fill in deep grooves in cedar shingles?

I just primed and painted a house with cedar siding. On one side of the house, the side facing the ocean has much deeper grooves in it from the sun and wind and salt water beating it down over the years. This gives makes it looked flawed compared to the other 3 sides which have very light grooves in them. What is the best way to go back over it and "fill in" the grooves. The house is up for sale, and prospective buyers may not like this minor imperfection. Thanks

Open Question: Ball Mason Quilted Crystal jars - how do find out how old?

Hi - I have found some Ball Quilted Crystal jars 8oz and am trying to figure out how old they are. I have some Ball Perfect Mason jars dating somewhere in the 1930 - 1960 and am wondering if any one these might be old. I have included links to what the bottom of the jars look like. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4068/4529131566_f8f2ab40c4_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4031/4528498591_06056f2b27_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4005/4529131334_46bd935baa_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4058/4528498779_48aa575eba_b.jpg Thank you
