Open Question: Adhesives that will not melt?

What types of adhesive will not melt if heat from a flame is in close contact with it? I'm talking about a regular flame (i.e. you strike a match or use a lighter, NOT the extreme heat of a kiln). The flame will heat will probably be in contact it for relatively long periods of time (possibly up to 20 minutes). Would Elmer's Rubber Cement work? Or Elmer's Ultimate Polyurethane? I'm trying to get something that I could buy at a local store like Home Depot or an arts'n'crafts store. The adhesive has to be strong enough to hold something about as heavy as a trumpet mouthpiece. I plan on using it on glass and/or metal, but I'm most concerned with how well it will stick to glass. So, just to review: Strong adhesive Does not melt in relatively high heat Sticks well to glass Not toxic if inhaled Thanks in advance!

Open Question: I have a garage in my basement which I want to change into a room?

It is under my daughters room and is very cold, Im considering blocking the garage door (perminantly) and using the space as an additional family room. I plan to remove the sloping driveway aswell, do I need a concrete retaining wall as it will be below ground or can I use lumber? Who is best to advise on what needs to be done for changing the space to a room? Im in Medicine Hat Alberta
