Open Question: Cheap alternative for flooring/carpet? and more... Open Question: Cheap alternative for flooring/carpet?I'm turning my garage into an office space where I want to store my goods and also put a desk and stuff, but the biggest problem is the floor which is just concrete. Is there anything cheaper than commercial carpet that I can use? The cheapest deal I can find it like 50 cents per square foot, so if there is anything cheaper out there that I could use, that would be great. I don't want to paint it, as it looks kind of tacky. Well now I want it to be a neutral color (not letting anyone paint after this) but I feel like I have enough paint on my walls. plus one roommate did a terrible job and there are run spots where she left too much paint. How do I fix this, and what is the easiest way? will it be expensive? Open Question: Help me decorate my first apartment! :-)?I'm a college student and I'm moving into my very first apartment, which is really exciting. I'm looking for colorful things to buy! Curtains, wall decor, vases, rugs, whatever. If you could point me in the right direction to a website or store in the Boston area (or within 100 miles) that would be great. Examples of websites I've used are: http://www.fredflare.com http://www.etsy.com http://www.vat19.com as well as Amazon and eBay (but if you find something cool there, post it anyway!) Thanks! Open Question: Disney Princess inspired bedroom for Adults?I'm almost 24, and I still love Disney Princesses. Now I want to have a room inspired by them, but an airy elegant/lovely room where it's obvious a woman lives there. I've bought the paint for the room already (Disney's Behr line of colors in: Cinderella's Ball Gown {light/medium blue} and Timeless Tales {soft minty green}. I plan on painting the top half of my room in the "Cinderella's Ball gown", and the Bottom half in "Timeless Tales", and placing a chair rail (painted white) to cover where the colors meet. Now my question really comes in: How to I continue to decorate the room, but not make it look too little girl? For decorating, I'm thinking of buying things like pillows with tassels on them, and the collectible items of my favorite princesses (not like posters, etc.) and keeping it simple. Help? Open Question: How do I take measurements for curtains that will be hung over vertical blinds?I have a sliding glass door in my living room that goes out to the deck. Open Question: Need to Replace Old Toilet On Remodel?I'm hiring a contractor to do a bath remodel, and would like to know if it's necessary,by law, to change out my old 6 gallon toilet? Open Question: Question on installing new shower system?I am currently remodeling my bathroom shower. I want to have showerhead and handheld shower at the same time. I know the easiest way is to put a shower arm diverter on the showerhead. However, I realize it's not going to look good since the hose will be hanging down from the showerhead. I am looking for an alternative. Kohler has different choices on One Handle Tub & Shower Faucet Trim Kit. The diverter is located on the trim (Push Button Diverter) instead of on the spout. Please see the pictures from below website. http://www.efaucets.com/detail.asp?Product_Id=K-T14420-4-CP With the diverter on the trim, I am wondering if I can subsitute the spout with the wall mount supply elbow then attach the handheld shower to it. http://www.efaucets.com/detail.asp?Product_Id=K-976-CP I am assuming that the push button diverter will still be functioning to divert the water between the showerhead and the handheld shower. Please advise if it's workable. Thanks! Silvia Open Question: I have red/tan plaid couches and my walls are red and tan to match. What color carpet do I choose? My couches are wine and tan plaid.
