Open Question: why the japanese beds are so low? are they comfy?Open Question: The floors had been covered for about 20 yrs in this house I just bought. I pulled the carpet and the floor?didn't look too bad but it did need stripping and a new polyurethane coat. The contractor stripped the floor with a no neutralizing liquid stripper. He seemed to follow everything that needed to be done, BUT I didn't sit in the doorway and watch every move. So he put the first coat on and the next day I asked why it looked strange he said the floor being covered so long might be causing the floor to soak up the polyurethane. He put the second coat down, floor still looked spotty and dried that way. He has been back two times trying to solve this, 3rd was another coat, 4th I think was Zimmer Seal Coat. He did some spot sanding and coating with this stuff and it "alligatored" so now he's gone to get his had sander and more poly to fix this mess. It dawned on me maybe it is the stripper! Maybe the trouble spots are from him not adequately mopping after the stripper. What do you think? Does anybody have a clue, could this be the problem or what. Does he need to strip the floor again and neutralize it? Help, this has been going on for a week now and I need to get moved. Help. (I saw some of his work before I hired him, but after the fact I found out he had put the poly on (really nice)but the sanding and stripping had been done by someone else.) It's not about hiring somone else, it's about what could be the problem. I did find a website called Penn Foster that is only 498 for the full course and all the books and it takes 6 months to one year but you dont get a degree...I would only be getting a CID from them...what does that mean?
