Open Question: Could I cut this glass table?

Would it be possible to bring my glass IKEA table top to a glass company and have them cut a third of the length off to create a square dining table and a seperate coffee/side table? It is tempered glass with edges that have been sanded to a round and frosted edge. Would it be possible to have them cut a large circle out of the middle? Open Question: Painting on bare plaster?

Hi We had our stairs plastered about 6 months ago. We put PVA first on the plaster, we then used a soft sheen Johnsons Diva emulsion which says you can wipe clean. It has been painted now for 5 weeks but when any dirt marks are on and we try to wipe it the paint also comes off. Does anybody know why and how we can rectify it? Should we sand it down slightly and put on more paint. We gave it three coats originally. With it being the stairs the plaster is very cold as it doesnt get as much heat as the rest of the house.

Open Question: Trying to paint a room with a "junkyard theme" look. WHat about black?

Open Question: What color vinyl siding could I put on the second story of my house with colonial red brick on the first?

I have a typical two story colonial type house with the red brick all around the first floor and white siding on the second story and black roof. I am going to do a new roof and gutters this spring. I'm thinking I may reside the second story and go for a totally new look, but I'm not good at that sort of thing. The windows in the house are white vinyl frame, garage door is white and only a year old(don't want to paint it). The red brick also has the occasional whitewash look brick and black brick here and there. I'd like to get away from a black roof, but it isn't that important energy wise as I live in a very shaded area. With the red brick and the white frame windows being the constant, anyone have any ideas for siding, roof, shutter, trim, and gutter color combos?

Open Question: What kind of home paint is the least likely to cause nausea or headaches?

I would really like to paint my room myself rather than have it professionally done, and am a bit concerned about the fumes causing nausea and headaches. I'm undergoing chemo and am a bit more prone to nausea than before. I can handle doing normal painting for my art, but in a whole room it can be more overwhelming. Advice on brands would be great. Also, how do you paint horizontal stripes on the wall? I want two stripes in accent colors, and then I'm going to paint a mural in another section. Thanks in advance.

Open Question: What kind of window treatment to use?

I have a 10' kitchen window that looks out to a busy street. I have curtains right now, but it makes it very dark. My kitchen is a black and white theme. I want something that will give me privacy, but also let in light.
