Open Question: are there any regulations relating to the space left between a corner shower cubicle and washhand basin?

they both face each other with sink slightly to the left but only have a space of about 11.5" between them but i think this is not enough room to get past them.

Open Question: How to create a Tim Burton-style bedroom decorations?

I am trying to create a Tim Burton style bedroom. Kind of like a dark enchanted world type of feel. Like the garden in Coraline or Willy Wonka or Corpse Bride style. The room in a dark lavender. I have purchased some black vinyl to make interesting designs with. The basic inspiration for the room is something like: http://stupid-gogo.deviantart.com/art/Just-a-Moon-142516359 The room is very large so I am trying to come up with interesting furniture or decor or even floor art that could really make the room feel right. Any thoughts?

Open Question: WHICH IS MORE EFFICIENT: HEATING VENTS ON THE FLOOR OR THE CEILING?

We live in Canada and we had an HVAC guy come and quote us on some work we want done on an unfinished 2nd floor. He said he would put in propane heating system for us and that the heating vents will be in the ceiling just above each window. After speaking to someone else, this person claims the vents should be in the floor because heat rises. Now maybe our quote was from a guy who claims to want to do it this way without having to mess up or tear out any walls from the main floor to put ducts in in the floor. What is your opinion?

Open Question: what color granite tiles / backsplash would look best for countertops in my kitchen?

my cabinets are creamy white, not bright white. a couple more questions also... my appliances are white, but would stainless look better, since they donut really match the white of the cabinets? the floor is an older whitish with blue veining tile. We will be chancing this too, but what would look good.. a darker tile or stay lighter? Would a laminate wood floor look good>? I have seen some that look really good now a'days? thanks for any tips!
