What is the best way to retexture a wall that are textured already. Do you have to sand them first, or what is the best way to retexture with a knockdown texture.

Open Question: Adding a bathroom to a house with concrete slab foundation - potential cost?

Hello - I am looking at buying a house that is on a concrete slab, with 3 beds and 1 bath. I am considering what it would cost to add another bathroom. *One option - Put the new bathroom on the existing foundation by building it in the garage or in part of a room. *The other option might be to push out one of the walls in the master bedroom - basically adding a small extension to the house. I am not sure what a reasonable cost estimate for such a job would be, but I imagine that the fact that the house is on a concrete slab makes an addition like this much more expensive than if there was a crawl space. Anyone have any rough ideas? (This is in California- SF Bay Area) The house is around 1000 square feet. It was built in the '50s and I understand that there was some public sewer system leak that flooded the place and needed to be fixed a while ago, so I am also considering this as a potential extra cost if there are issues with the existing pipes.

Open Question: On average, what are the different average dimensions of the rooms of a house?

I want to be an architect and enjoy drawing house plans but I need to make sure that my room dimensions are correct and not too large or too small for that kind of room. For example, what is the average size of a kitchen? Bathroom? etc... Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
