Open Question: Is pressure treated wood essential where wood contacts the floor in a dry basement?

The house we are seeking to buy has a walk-out basement, finished by the owner. He used untreated 2x4's where the wall framing contacts the concrete floor. Is the lack of pressure-treated wood a problem?

Open Question: What should I use in my dining room?

I just renovated my dining room over. New wiring, wall sockets, switches, etc. My question is this...I have 1 switch in the room and now I have 6 plugs to use whenever I need them. I ran to the local hardware store and all they had was a 30 amp breaker. So, I bought it. This is way too much for my dining room of 1 switch and 6 plugs, isn't it? Should I change it? What should I change it too? 15 amp? And I am trying to keep each room on it's own breaker so if I have to work on one room I just shut down that room. Makes work a lot easier. I am having issues with the dimmer I wanted in the dining room too. Any suggestions. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Open Question: What could I use to create a cozy eating area in an apartment?

I am moving to a small apartment that has a small area (tile floor) for an eating area. My main colors in the kitchen are going to be soft pink and lime green. I was thinking of finding a card table and covering it. Then I was thinking of getting a round gateleg table with two shorter bar stools. I want it to look nice, not cheap. Looking for other ideas on how to create a table/seating area for 2 people.

Open Question: Bedroom wall photo collage?

I went out yesterday and got these really cool postcards from vinmag http://www.vinmag.com/online/index.php?sid=uax0n9768g1irn3c4je83re9kq110829&app=gbu0&ns=prodsearchp&gbu0--prodsearch--string=postcards&SUBMIT=Search http://www.vinmag.com/online/gbu0-prodshow/RC080-vespa-postcard.html and I'm not sure what to do with them. I want to make a cool collage with loads of (ripped?) pictures on a part of my wall or my cupboard doors but I'm not sure if they will fit in with it. If not, what else could I do with them? Stick them randomly around? What do you think would go well?? I'm trying to make my room personal and already have 2 posters up :P Thanks :))

Open Question: Am I allowed to make a pillow case with the playboy logo on it?

On customizedgirl.com, I made a pillow case and I uploaded a picture of the playboy bunny logo so I could put it on the pillow. However, my mom said that I could get in trouble for that since it's a company logo, but I wanted to ask if that was true or if I was allowed to since it's just a picture of the logo? Please help :) Oh and also, if i would get in trouble, is there any way to get authorization to use the image? Thanks in advance.

Open Question: I'm looking for a non-ticking clock that still looks nice?

Clocks that tick loudly annoy me hugely, and keep me awake. Still, I always like to know the time, so I want a clock for my room. Most of the non-tick, silent tick or quiet ticking clocks I've seen are very ugly or out of my price range, so I was wondering if anyone knew of nice, analogue clocks that either tick very quietly or not at all, are still visually pleasing and don't cost a fortune. A lot to ask, I know... is it out there?

Open Question: Where can I find the floor layout of houses?

I'm interested in buying a house, but it's a listed building and so I'm trying to find out what the layouts of the other houses in that terrace are - ie have they knocked down walls etc to open it out a bit. Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can find this information from? The land registry just has the layout of the house in relation to the other houses in the street, not the internal layout of the house. thanks
