Open Question: Would removing plastic bathroom tile from the twenties ruin the historical appeal of my apartment?

This tile is an ugly light green color. My landlord agreed to remove it and install white subway tile with gray grout and his interior designer agreed. Now, all of the sudden he says he does not want to do it because he is afraid what is behind the tiles and he needs to retain as much historical appeal as possible and leave as much in this apartment that was orginal. I think that he is just trying to be cheap! Come on... plastic green tile would be more appealing then white subway tile. And -- this place is not ona historical registry not is the landlord working toward that.

Open Question: Help! I am decorating a living room, child's bedroom and my own bedroom and i don't know what to do?

My living room is white, atm. and the only furniture is a gray wrap around couch and pale peach window sheer curtains. I want to make the room bolder but i don't know what to do. We decided we are dying the curtains to save a little money and the walls are going to antique white because its a simple color. I want to make bold the curtains and some throw pillows but i don't know what color to do. My daughters bedroom will be a light blue. My husband and i have a tight bedroom so that is going to be a cream (lily of the valley) and a pale green color. the only problem is i don't know what to do with the living room and what colors to use. I want it to feel warm and welcoming but relaxing since we watch movies in there all the time and have guests. what can we do?? Any suggestions? Advice? If it helps, the house is one story rancher type so you can under stand how the living room would look like.

Open Question: Bathroom Vent Question?

This morning I had a bathroom vent installed in a (2nd story) bathroom that had previously only had a window. The vent was installed and the tubing in the attic runs to the edge of the roof... however there is no hole cut to the outside as I had expected. I had seen someone mention soffets (sp?) in another post but wanted to confirm that this is acceptable and the job was done correctly. Also, as the spot is difficult to get to in an unfinished attic, is there any easy way to tell if it's done correctly? Thanks.

Open Question: Where can I find a reasonably priced but good quality storage bag or box for a Christmas wreath?

I'm looking for the round ones that zip all the way around. All the ones I'm finding are so expensive!
