Open Question: Hi- I'm looking for short (27"), sheer, white, curtain panels for a bedroom. Help, please!?

I've been to Sears and Ross' and have only found the long 70-84" curtains. Because the material is so light, I'm afraid I may not be able to cut and sew them. Anybody know where to get some sheer short curtains? A million thanks! Thanks for the suggestion, but the item I would have ordered, is not available on their on-line website, and there is no Ikea in for over 2500 miles. Any other suggestions?

Open Question: Where can I get these kinds of party lights?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSvNCZVcFSQ I'm interesting in getting Party Lights for my house. I only need 4-5 bulbs. Watch this video all the way through before anything. I need the lights to be like this: + change colors between white, red, green, and blue. + syncs in with MUSIC + can manually sync if a user wishes (like, I'll press a button and the light will flash itself if I desire) + can FLASH + can rotate or move around I have no idea where to look and I'd like to know of a good website/place/location that can hook me up with lights like these.

Open Question: Do I need a permit for remodeling my kitchen in San Jose?

I'm planning to remodel my kitchen - add new cabinets, new floors, and appliances. I'm planning to move the stove and switch from electric range to gas. So, I'll need to add a gas line. Also planning to move the dishwasher to another location. Does San Jose require a permit for all of this? How much does a permit cost, if required, and how long does it take to process?
