Open Question: Where can I buy satin twisted cord in Toronto?

Hi! I wanted to embellish six sofa cushions using satin twisted cord (3/16'' or 3/8'' thickness), but am unsure where I can buy this product in Toronto, Ontario. Can anyone point me towards a store or on-line retailer? I will need about 9 yards of the cord in antique gold or champagne colors. Anyone know how much the cost is per yard? Thanks in advance.

Open Question: What sizes & how many paper lanterns for a 40x60 tent?

Hi there! I'm getting married this September and we're renting a 40x60 tent. I need to know what sizes and how many paper lanterns I should buy? I want a magical, whimsical "feel". I can't afford the $6,000 for fabric draping so I thought an alternative would be to use paper lanterns to disguise the ugly bare ceiling. Please help, I plan on buying them this week and I'm completely lost. Thank you.

Open Question: Portable above ground pools?

My mom has agreed to let me get a swimming pool for our backyard for the summers. She has some guidelines, of course. It has to be: -Portable or disassemblable, just so we can put it away in winters and it won't kill our grass -Something NOT inflatable, made of anything from steel or wood, or something other than rubber -Big enough to fit more than three people at a time. For when we have company and want to swim Your help would be MUCH, MUCH appreciated! Please, please help me! Thank you SO much!! (:

Open Question: Home addition. Which would be easier and cheaper? Building up, under, or out?

We have a small ranch (under 1000 square feet) that we need to add room to. Very standard ranch currently with kitchen, LR, 1 (yes 1) bath, and three bedrooms. In a perfect world, I would add 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a "spare" room for a family room or tv room. At minimum we need one more bedroom and one more bath (with at least shower stall). Our house is located on a VERY sloped piece of property. The highest point being the road in front of our home. Our choices are as follows: 1. Turn laundry room into stairway to basement and put in rooms downstairs. Drawback. It's musty. Only the back of the house is available because the front half of basement is a huge pile of dirt. My husband already studded part of it. One corner, about a 10X15 area is paved the rest we'd have to pave. And we'd have to seal off the dirt. We have had no issues with flooding, but it's super musty and moldy. The part of the basement we could finish is directly under the kitchen, bath, laundry room, and master bedroom. 2. Build up. Even just half the house size. Perhaps make the upstairs the extra room, master bedroom and an additional bath? 3. Build out. We could potentially come out the front or either side, but the back on the house is over two stories high because of the slope of the property. It would be easiest to build out on the kitchen LR side, but I can't see how we could make that work for a bedroom. Any ideas appreciated! Thank you. We are planning to do this ourselves. My husband is a cabinet guy and handy around the house. Our budget is limited.

Open Question: What are these types of wall coverings called?!?

I am decorating my bedroom soon, and I have seen these 'wall coverings' around. They are like textured, 3D wall coverings that look so cool. I have seen them in shops in town, and on TV. I can't seem to find them anywhere in the UK, but it's difficult to search for them when I don't know what they're called! These are examples of the thing I'm looking for... http://www.designpublic.com/shop/inhabit/7899 http://www.modulararts.com/designs-home.html Please let me know if you know what they're called! Thanks.

Open Question: teenage bedroom ideas?

i have a 15 year old daughter.. and she would like her room decorated but shes not sure which colour scheme to have. She doesn't want anything too girly or too boyish. She doesn't want it to look babyish, she would like it to look quite sophisticated, stylish and modern. Which colours do you think she might like?

Open Question: How do I cope with a small bedroom space?

My bedroom is really small since I have a lot of desks in my room and a big bed. New things are just constantly coming into my room, and I'm getting sick of trying to find a place for everything. My family is looking for a new place to move into, but I feel like crying for being stuck in such a tight space all the time. The problem is that everything that I have becomes important to me once in a while, so I can't put things in places that are hard-to-reach. I also have a tight schedule, so I have no time for taking out unwanted clothes and such. Can someone help me please??? I'm getting sick of this.
