Open Question: Is there a decorative way to cover the exterior of a window air conditioning unit? The only window that we can install this air conditioning unit in is in the front of the house. Not the best curb appeal. Any ideas?
Open Question: I need ideas to decorate this under the stairs niche.?I'm moving into a house next week. This link shows the space I am asking about. It still has the black shelves but not the other items. I may remove the little shelves as I don't care for the current look of the space. Please give your ideas or links to pics so I can create a cute space! http://maris.rapmls.com/scripts/mgrqispi.dll?APPNAME=Gstl&PRGNAME=MLSPictureDescriptions&ARGUMENTS=-N101657163,-N748491,-AE Open Question: Roughly how much in total to remove old bath and install a new spa one?Interested in those spa baths and wondering how much in total including labour it would cost to get one installed. Open Question: I found a floor lamp that looks like an antique. I can't find a name or mark. Where do I look to i.d. it?I am trying to i.d. it online but can't find where to look or what to write in search. the brass looks etched (maybe feathers or a leaf), 4 dif. shapes of wt. marble or granite with an orange swirl, outdated light sockets w/a pull chain, and the base has 3 legs w/ what looks like a front half of laying down hunting dogs with their paws crossed. Open Question: When re-grouting tile, it is necessary to remove all old grout, or can you grout over existing grout?I would like to regrout the tile in my bathroom. We have 1" tiles and I'd rather not have to remove all existing grout if I don't have to. Is there a way to grout over the existing grout? The person at home depot recommended using a wire brush to try to remove some of it and to make sure the grout was really clean, but I don't want to scratch up my tiles in the process. Any advice? Open Question: Reasonable cost to finish a basement and add a bathroom ?We are planning on finishing our basement and adding a bathroom down there. Living area is approx 450 square feet. Walls are already insulated. So it would mainly be framing, drywall costs and final trim. Also we plan on adding a bathroom approximate 12' x 12' with 2 closets in it. We are paying out of our pocket for the Vanity/Sink, Tub/shower and Toilet. Adding 6 can lights on the living area side as well as outlets. Also basement is already roughed for bathroom drains. Also we will be doing our own painting and getting carpet installed afterwards. Our neighbor used a contractor to finish their basement, approx 300 sq ft and it cost about $5500. So for our basement what is a ballpark to expect to pay ? Under $10K ? $10-13K $13K -$15K $15K + I know it's tought to come up with a number, just thought their might be some contractors on here that might be able to pin point a price. More Recent Articles
