Open Question: How much does it cost to have a fireplace installed?I'm in Central Florida and it's been way too cold this year and I want a fireplace! My house is an older, built in the 50's concrete block house and I've found the perfect location where I want it. I have a standard 3' x 4' window that I plan on knocking out where I want the fireplace. The house is just painted concrete block so I'm thinking of building the actual "fire box" and chimney out of the same just sticking off the side where the window is now. I figure this will save my floorspace in the process. Anyway, I was just hoping someone out there may have an idea on what this kind of work may cost.
