Open Question: Is there a good cheap way to weather proof windows? I live in a very old house that has been converted into 2 apartments. The windows are so old, they might as well not even be there. The old wooden frames aren't insulated at all and requires quite a bit of heat to reach a manageable 66 degrees. Ask the landlord to replace them? It's on his to-do list, but I'm not holding my breath. I just need to get by for another month. We had some large boxes from Christmas we put over the windows in the living room as makeshift insulation as well as covering them with plastic.
