Open Question: This is a poll please...... your preference..... carpet/vinyl/hardwood/laminate…?

hi there... im looking for as many answers as possible so i am reposting it in hopes new people will respond and i will get a better idea of the average preference.... we are building a house to sell and having a disagreement with each other on the flooring. one of us says people love carpet...at least in bedrooms. the other of us says people hate carpet these days. what would you prefer in your house? laminate throughout? or a combination with tile?? just let us know your preferences please!

Open Question: How to match the color of concrete caulking???????????

I have seen small cracks along the line between my kitchen countertop and the tiles on the wall. I bought a concrete caulking tube from Home Depot, but unfortunately the color doesn't match. I wonder how to match the existing color? Does the concrete caulking sold by Home Depot or Lowes have different colors or always the standard gray color?

Open Question: Muddy carport......should we make into a garage?

We currently have a carport but our house sits at the bottom of a hill. So, every time it rains the carport gets really muddy and wet and gross. Its such a pain because I have a two year old who wants to splash in it every time we go to the car. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I considered turning the carport into a garage, but my husband doesn't seem to think this will help. He says that there is a gap between the garage door and the ground and that the water and mud will still get through. I've never had a garage so i don't know anything about it. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!!! there is no storm drain to get rid of the water.

Open Question: which paint job would help make this small space look larger?

I am redoing my sons room in Race cars. I have a few Ideas in my head on what I want to do with the walls. here are my options. I know I want a checkered border in the middle to seperate and make the room look taller, Im not sure what colors to paint the top sections to make the room look larger. I am going to use a red and blue, Should I paint the above the border red? or blue?... obviously I want the color not chosen for the top to go on the bottom. If you could let me know which way will make the space seem less small that would be great. And if you could back it up with a website that agrees with you that would be even better! yeah.... mirrors and 5 year old boys dont mix..... :o/
