Open Question: What color should I paint bedroom? and more... Open Question: What color should I paint bedroom?Hi All! I'm looking to repaint my bedroom... when I painted it for years ago I had a look in mind but it turned out to be rather blah and I feel like I'm in a cold jail cell! I have gray carpets and painted the walls a color that was called Silverscreen, which is a silvery grayish lavendar but most of the times looks simply gray and like I said, blah! I want to add some color to my room and really wanted to paint the walls a pinkish-peach color, sort of like this shade... ignore the photo, just focus on the color... http://www.frenchpresents.com/images/ParisPinkSmSq500.jpg. My problem now is, I've been searching online for comforters and came across one that I really love... http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Laura-Ashley-Sophia-8-piece-Bedding-Ensemble/3703412/product.html?rcmndsrc=2. What shade would you suggest to paint the walls? Also, I'm not in the market to change the carpet right now because that's above my price range. So just some fresh paint and some redecorating! I want a shabby-chic/vintage glamour inspired look! Open Question: What can I use to cover up scratches on my dryer? My brand new dryer got some scratches on the front of it during a recent move. Is there anyway to fix this so it will look brand new again? Open Question: Multi-colored brown bowl. Open Question: How do I make a stove shine?I have a new Frigidaire stove (black). I can't seem to clean it without it looking greasy and leaving streaks. How can I clean it without this happening? Open Question: Folding bath screens - are they the best option?I'm redecorating my bathroom and I'm thinking about new bath, now should I get folding bath screens? Open Question: Laundry and toilet floor-vinyl floor covering?I have both these rooms with concrete floors. Very unsightly. I want to cover them with vinyl or lino flooring for various reasons-economical, noise reduction and no real opportunity to lay tiles due to constant use of these areas (lots of kids-no where to go). How would I do this to get a waterproof seal on the flooring? Many thanks Open Question: Can I apply oil based primer over water based primer?I ran out of water based primer but have a gallon of oil based. I need to do one more coat of primer and REALLY don't want to go to Home Depot now. What are my options? Open Question: Looking for IKEA drawers? Help!?We need a new base cabinet for our kitchen. Ikea seems to sell the base cabinet frame and then the drawer fronts but what about the actual drawer and the tracks? Help! Open Question: Where can I buy used carpets from hotels or casinos of Las Vegas?Open Question: Are polyester curtains toxic?I'm subletting an apartment for a month only, so I don't want to spend a lot of money on nice curtains. The bedroom is very bright because it has huge south-facing windows. I thought I could block the sunlight in the morning by taping black fleece blankets (which were very inexpensive) to the windows. It actually works great (and the tape is even holding!) but I'm a little concerned. The blankets are 100% polyester and when I washed them, the hot dryer made them smell really bad, like melted plastic. Now I'm worried that hanging a bunch of these in my bedroom - especially when they are in the direct sunlight - will cause the blankets to off-gas some nasty chemicals. What do you think? Should I be worried? Thanks! More Recent Articles
