Open Question: What is a good color to paint a bathroom?i just took down the ugly teal and mauve wallpaper from the bathroom i am wondering what would be a good color to paint it. i am renting and the landlord is pretty conservative so i cant do anything crazy in there. it is also a very small bathroom with no windows so i think darker colors would make it feel smaller. thanks! Open Question: Slipcovers for new sofa?We just bought a new sofa/love seat that is beautiful and comfy. We have small children and a dog and I have slip covers Im using to protect my new furniture. Our set wasnt cheap and Im trying my best to maintain the longevity of its beauty by preserving it with slip covers. With young children comes stains and accidents. My husband thinks Im goofy for covering it up and its only psychological to keep the slip covers on. He said as soon as I take them off the couch could get stained then. What are your thoughts? To me Im preserving the everyday little stains by covering it. Sippy cups leaking, bottles tiped over, baby spit up, toddler whos potty training having an accident. Am I dumb for covering a new couch with slip covers? I just dont want to seem like Im avoiding the inevitable but I dont want them ruined ya know.... The shower has a very low ceiling and I'm trying to finish the 4" strip on the walls above the vikrel and also the ceiling with tile. I'm planning to use Durarock directly onto the studs then use redguard. Then tile. Is there any issues using 1/4" durarock? It will be installed on the lip of the shower walls so it will match up better with 1/2" greenboard I'm using everywhere else. Any information on this will be appreciated. I didn't want to leave my old house at all so as a consolation my mom said I can have the loft all to myself. I already know what basics i'm putting in there. Desk for homework, laptop, 80 inch TV (its too big for the people to take with them :) ), and XBOX360 with live. How should I decorate it furniture wise to make it awesome for me and my friends placement-wise, and also furniture-wise (i.e. bean bag chairs or couch, more light vs less light).
