Open Question: Is there anything that exists that can make a bedroom window look like it's not there?I mean on the inside of my room. Open Question: what can i use to stick ceramic tiles to a polystyrene object? has to be sensible as it is for an art project!?also has to not mess up the polystyrene as i cant re-do it. i would buy a glue gun but they can be expensive Open Question: How do you take bunk beds apart? They've been together for 12 years and we are ready to get rid of them. I cannot figure out how they come apart though! They are solid wood, with drawers underneath. Thanks! Open Question: Can you recommend a brand of window that would be energy efficient and attractive in an old house?Hello! I am looking for a double-paned casement window that is energy efficient and yet will suit our 1925 house. It doesn't have to be a historic reproduction, but it's for the front of the house so I would like it to fit in as much as possible with the rest of the windows, which I cannot afford to replace all at once. The rough opening is about 3 1/2 feet square. I would prefer a double/French casement, but single is ok. I would like a wood interior, but the exterior doesn't have to be wood, since it's on the second floor so it won't be viewed up close, and I live in a rainy climate. I would like square mullions (muntins?), and it's not super important whether they're a snap on grille or have the illusion of going through the double pane. The main things I am not liking about the new windows I've looked at are: (1) the panes/lites are too big - the older windows have panes that are about six inches across and a little taller than they are wide; and (2) the hardware is too big and modern-looking and I'm not sure whether it can be replaced without damaging the window function. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Open Question: What's the best way to sound proof a staircase.?I want to divide a house into two apartments. I have built a block wall for a hall way and to surround a staircase. At the moment I have solid concrete walls and I want to cover them in sound absorbing material. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks! Also, I want to reduce/eliminate sound from upstairs. What would be the best material to cover the floors ? Open Question: Glued Nitefinder help?I got a Nitefinder recently, and I opened it up to take out the air restrictor. When I opened it up, I found that the pieces that I was able to pull apart on my sister's Nitefinder were glued together. So far, I've almost been successful with heating it up, and have had no luck with rubbing alcohol and nail polish remover. I think the glue is hot glue, but I'm not sure. On to my questions- A) Has anyone else had this problem, and B) Has anyone with said problem been able to fix it? I think NERF's efforts are pretty futile, because there will always be someone to outsmart them and mod their guns. More Recent Articles |
