Open Question: How much would it cost to make a studio apt in an attic?

I live with my parents in a large 5 bedroom home. How much would it cost to create a studio apartment for myself in their attic? It doesnt have floors or walls. I would be starting from a few dusty planks.

Open Question: How to move a king sized bed... HELP!!!!?

Okay so I'm moving out and I wanted to know a few ways to move my king sized bed. It's a bob-o-pedic lol and it has two twin box springs so i know that'll be easy to move. I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to fold up my mattress and tie it down to the top of my dad's SUV... it'll only be a 15 min. drive but do you think it'll compromise the quality of my bed by doing this? i know my last resort would be using a u-haul truck or something but that's the only big piece of furniture i need to move so i feel it would kind of be a waste... someone help me please!

Open Question: Anybody Ever Sell it All & Just Start Over?

I really dislike my home. I sometimes think it is worth a shot to sell all our furniture and start over. I have fresh ideas and I really would like a change, but we can't afford to move. Has anybody out there ever done this? Maybe I have cabin fever, I don't know. What should I do? Oh, and we have too much stuff. Could that be a part of it? & All the furniture is dark cherry wood. Seriously! I really feel like just getting rid of it all and trying to live out my dream-home. Hey Gone, I'll be dead in a few years? Guilt or fear? Do you know something I don't know?

Open Question: 2 rooms!! how to design layout?

So, since I have always wanted a bigger room, my mom said that i can also have the guest room ( right next to my room )as my room also. But I cannot knock down any walls. I was planning to keep my bed in one room, as my official bedroom, and use the other room as a hangout room for my piano, tv, stereo, friends.. etc. My biggest ordeal that I need help with is, I wanted to use the new room i get as a bigger closet than i have.. but do I bring my dresser into that room? Would it be weird to have my bed in a different room than my dresser? I'm not sure if I should keep some of my clothes in one room and some in the other.. what should i do? help!!

Open Question: How would you make this ugly kitchen live-able?

http://sn123w.snt123.mail.live.com/att/GetAttachment.aspx?tnail=8&messageId=628604a8-1f80-11df-8383-002264c248f2&Aux=44|0|8CC81A4757A5B50|| That is the kitchen I am going to have to deal with for a few years until my husband & I save enough money to build our dream home. We're moving from our ultra modern 1 bedroom flat to a 4 bedroom house his parents own near the schools we like while we're thinking about having kids. We can do minor refurbishments like window treatments, paint, shelves, possibly some re-tiling & replacing handles but nothing as drastic as changing the cabinets. I really hate that kitchen, I am used to a ultra modern galley kitchen in neutral colours like stone, white & grey. I think those orangey wood cabinets are foul & really clash with the hardwood floors. We will probably have to buy most things from ikea to save money, I would really like to paint the kitchen & hang some curtains. It is also a eat in kitchen so I will need a big new dining table & area rug. I also love the idea of hanging rails from the walls to hang utensils & fry-pans. I would appreciate any suggestions you have, particularly about what paint colours might make those cabinets a little less loud.
