Open Question: Anybody Ever Sell it All & Just Start Over?I really dislike my home. I sometimes think it is worth a shot to sell all our furniture and start over. I have fresh ideas and I really would like a change, but we can't afford to move. Has anybody out there ever done this? Maybe I have cabin fever, I don't know. What should I do? Open Question: 2 rooms!! how to design layout?So, since I have always wanted a bigger room, my mom said that i can also have the guest room ( right next to my room )as my room also. But I cannot knock down any walls. I was planning to keep my bed in one room, as my official bedroom, and use the other room as a hangout room for my piano, tv, stereo, friends.. etc. My biggest ordeal that I need help with is, I wanted to use the new room i get as a bigger closet than i have.. but do I bring my dresser into that room? Would it be weird to have my bed in a different room than my dresser? I'm not sure if I should keep some of my clothes in one room and some in the other.. what should i do? help!! We're moving from our ultra modern 1 bedroom flat to a 4 bedroom house his parents own near the schools we like while we're thinking about having kids. We can do minor refurbishments like window treatments, paint, shelves, possibly some re-tiling & replacing handles but nothing as drastic as changing the cabinets. I really hate that kitchen, I am used to a ultra modern galley kitchen in neutral colours like stone, white & grey. I think those orangey wood cabinets are foul & really clash with the hardwood floors. We will probably have to buy most things from ikea to save money, I would really like to paint the kitchen & hang some curtains. It is also a eat in kitchen so I will need a big new dining table & area rug. I also love the idea of hanging rails from the walls to hang utensils & fry-pans. I would appreciate any suggestions you have, particularly about what paint colours might make those cabinets a little less loud. More Recent Articles
