Open Question: We are remodeling our house and changed to all white trim. Should we keep oak doors or change to white too?

We have all white doors and trim upstairs but downstairs I have solid hard wood oak floors. I want my trim to be white but not sure what it would like to either put in white doors (which I am afraid of all the dirt and grimm it will show) but afraid of what oak doors would look like with white trim. What do you think?

Open Question: How do I untie my new mini blind?

Ok, I'm an idiot at this type of stuff, but I can't figure out how to untie my mini-blind so everything "drops down." I am replacing a blind that was already in my room, so I don't have to install anything else. What do I need to do?

Open Question: Help please: What kind of carpet (material type) would be good for a high traffic living room?

I want to put an area rug in my living room but want to know what the best type to get is (one that I can clean pretty easily). Unluckily the front door opens right into the living room (theres no foyer or anything) and I have all wooden floors so wet shoes get tracked inside pretty easily. I have a small mat inside and out the door to try to catch some of the wetness but it doesnt catch all of it. I know whatever area rug I put down will get stuff tracked on it pretty easily so I want to know what the easiest kind to clean is. Any ideas? Thanks. :)

Open Question: Carpet tile or self-stick carpet tile?

I would like to put carpet tile in my basement. However, I really can't decide which is better, just regular carpet tile or self-stick carpet tile. I have heard good reviews about both, but some people say the sticky tile is too sticky, while others say it is not sticky enough. I have a concrete floor and not sure if it sticks well. Also, I am wondering if the regular (non-stick tile) holds its place, or does it need a carpet gripper underneath?

Open Question: Ideas to design my room?

well i live alone with my dad. im 13 and hes building me a room in the basement. he knows how big its gonna be and in like an back wards L shape. Its pretty big actually. i can design and decorate it in any way i could possibly want. I was thinking of a light turqouise blue, a little lighter than lime green, or like a hot pink/magenta color. im going towards the green more though. i just got a new zebra comforter and i dnt think i want a new one, but if it doesnt go along with any of the themes i could possibly buy a new one. i am just looking for some cool ideas for decorating and ways to paint the walls. pretty much any unique things that are fun and different. any pictures and or websites to check out would be nice!

Open Question: Would a black sink be "too much" in a black appliances kitchen? I need to replace the stainless steel sink.?

I have Black/gold granite counter tops, white cabinetry and black appliances. I need to replace the stainless steel sink. It is rusting and just getting old looking . Would a black sink be too much black or even maybe a matter black sink? Or should I stick with stainless steel? My walls are a slight Yellow/brown. Very tuscan inspired kitchen. Thanks!
