I need two colors, preferably in Behr paint. -A Tiffany Blue. (The EXACT shade of Tiffany Blue, not much lighter or darker.) I know that Tiffany Blue is copyrighted, but there must be a shade that's very very very close, right? I read online that Spa is very similar, what do you think? -This is a little harder. A silver. Not a gray, but a metallic silver. I'm not sure if Behr sells this, since their site is down. My idea is to do three walls Tiffany Blue, and one wall metallic silver, I think this would look really great. :) Thank you for any help you can give me! I read online that Ralph Lauren has metallic silver, but I'm worried that RL paint would be a lot of $$$. Open Question: Would it be a good idea to still use a gas lamp in a Victorian house?I'm not going to actually do this, but can you still have gas lamps in Victorian houses, as long as the gas escapes through the ceiling roses/vents? Open Question: How should a house painter get paid if they spray the interior of a new house or remodel with a spray rig?Nowadays it seems if everyone wants "something for less". I have always painted houses by "brush and roller" and just part time and i have lowered my labor rate to $9 an hour cash just to keep working although i feel like i'm getting ripped off for my services. Now, many people (investors) are in my market, Benton AR. buying cheap properties and fixing them up as rental units. Bad enough every potential employer wants me to "have a business" to suit their needs so i can be paid as a "contractor" for my labor. I was asked last week if i would consider painting the inside of a 1200 sq. ft. house with a spray rig for $500. I told the guy i didn't know; i probably could do it in 2 days considering i'll have to tape off all the windows and such first. He'll supply all the materials, paint, spray rig, tape and plastic. I am just thinking a "real" painting contractor would charge more. I don't know what to do. I can just say no and stay home and be broke or work cheap and still be just over broke. Working cheap hasn't helped me much as of late. Do house painter's who run spray rigs get paid by the square foot? Any advice? Thanks in advance!! More Recent Articles |
