Open Question: How do you go about installing a washer/dryer in a walk-in closet in a home?

We are new homeowners and we would like to move the laundry from the basement to 2nd floor walk-in closet that shares a wall with the upstairs bathroom. We are thinking we could tap into the bathroom pipes for drainage, but there is the question of power and vent for the dryer, right? The closet has regular outlets. We don't want anything Jerry-rigged, we want to do it right. I'm guessing we need to cut a hole for a vent to the outside of our (brick) home? How hard is this to do and who do we call to have it done?Plumber? Contractor?

Open Question: Help choosing type of wood for bed backboard?

I want to build a rounded top backboard for a king size bed. I'm thinking about 60" tall. I'm wondering what type of wood I should use for this. I want to be able to stain it pretty dark, but I also want it to be a good quality wood that "feels" like nice wood. I also want to use the same type of wood to do some picture frames to the sides of the backboard, so the type of wood has to be available in pieces I could make frames from. Thanks for any help. Cheers Also what type of cost would I be looking at for the type of wood suggested?
