Open Question: hippie bedding HELP.?i am redoing my bedroom and i am looking for like a hippie bedding but not really girly and cheesey. i plan on getting a lot of posters like grateful dead posters and tie dye tapestries. so something that will go with thoes type of things. please help find some ideas for me! thanks. Open Question: how do you decorate your chatbox on proboards?Open Question: How to make a basement bedroom look better for a teenage girl?I didn't want to share a room with my younger sister anymore so, sometime around October, I moved my whole bedroom into the basement. It is better than sharing a room but the basement still needs a little bit of help. The ceiling is somewhat open- you can see pipes and wires and cords which I have been strictly instructed not to touch or hang things on. The walls are made of wood- but not a smooth kind. It's in many needle thin strips. There are nail heads and areas to hang things all over. The floor is a green and white tile that is falling apart. I have a small bed, a large desk, a tall dresser, a plastic crate/ nightstand, a small TV on a thin stand, dozens of posters which I have not put up, a bowel chair, and a full sized refrigerator. I want it to look neater and more feminine but it's very difficult with the way the room is designed. I plan on getting a carpet for my birthday but nothing is set in stone. Any suggestions? Open Question: Does anybody know where I can get...?From the movie "The Uninvited" the older sister, Alex had this beautiful brown, green, blue, and yellow floral wallpaper. I have been searching everywhere but I can't seem to find that wallpaper. If anyone knows a way I could maybe find it. Or find something like it. Please tell me, I have to redecorate my room this summer and I already have the picture of it in my head, please and thank you (: Open Question: please help me to match colours in my livingroom/kitchen.?curtains are gold honey walls are flat cream very bland and the floor is wooden and varnished. I have a beige stone fireplace. these colours have to be taken in to account. My kitchen units are cream too. its a biggish room but it has alot to do as its livng and kitchen. What accent colours should i use on the kitchen wall tiles - you will be able to see them from the living room and i will pick up the colour in cushions and a throw etc. something a little edgy would be nice. my girls are 8 now so they are not so messy anymore. we want a soft feminine room but not boring - thanks all. could i have two accent colours I would like to have coloured floor lamps. Shabby chic would be ideal thanks again Open Question: Do eggcrates really soundproof a room? How do you do it? Are there other inexpensive alternatives? I can not tear down a wall or anything like that, I just want to reduce the incoming and outgoing sound from my room. Open Question: What is the best kind of paint to paint over Plasticine and cement?Open Question: What do you use to finish/render the inside of fireplace before you can install a woodburning stove? We are looking at having a woodburning stove installed, but just wondered what do they use to finish the inside of the old fireplace before the stove goes in. Is it just sand and cement or is there something special that they use for that purpose? Open Question: What Colour Primer Do I Use If I Want To Spray Some Metal, Orange?Open Question: Would an 18ga finish nail gun be sufficient for hanging tongue and groove pine on the ceiling of a patio?I'm hanging 3/4 inch tongue and groove pine on the ceiling of my patio. I wanted to know if the 18ga nail gun I have would be sufficient for the job. It will shoot 2' nails but I don't plan on face nailing it, I'm blind nailing it on the tongue side. I've used this nail gun for a multitude of trim on many projects with success but the weight of the wood on the ceiling makes be pause before using it. Suggestions? Open Question: anyone have any design ideas on a room that will be a play room/gym/computer room?Open Question: Can I repaint my cooktop? My Jenn-Air cooktop is stained. The cooktop (model cg205w), and I'd like to repaint the pans (item #2 in this diagram http://www.appliance-parts-warehouse.com/maytag-parts/maytag_parts_view.cfm?id=26931). Replacement parts are $95 each and I would need 2 of them. My understanding is the cooktop is currently painted from the factory with porecailn enamel paint. Can this be re-painted with a similar technique? I'm sure this isn't a DIY project (the painting process requires special tools and techniques). How can I find the "Right" person to do this job?
