Open Question: how do you paint? and more... Open Question: how do you paint?how do people paint pictures lik how do they make them look real? do you sketch out what you are drawing before you pait it ? any more tips? Open Question: What can I use as an alternative to carpet?I'm considering signing a lease at an apartment with an awesome floor plan.. the only downside to the unit is that it is carpet throughout except for kitchen/bathrooms. Is there anything I can put over the carpet to make it look like hardwood or laminate? I can't tear up the carpet because it's an apartment complex.. but I just hate carpet in the living areas. Open Question: Moving into a smaller house please? My partner and I live in his parents house at the moment and we have 2 rooms to ourselves. We have a treadmill, rowing machine, weight bench, 7/9 guitars, couple arm chairs etc. We are moving into a one room in a shared house and I'm wondering if anyone has advice when to start packing, what to take etc? We do know we have to leave the treadmill and other exercise type things (which is a shame as we like to keep fit!) We are moving the end of May, possibly beginning of June this year. Open Question: when can people start signing up for the hgtv dream home2011?Open Question: I'm giving my powder room a face lift and have a question about appropriate wall art.?Is it OK to frame prints of landscapes that I took and hang them in the powder room? The wall art at the stores feature tubs, sinks, flowers, plungers, clothing, etc., and I want to steer clear of that. We're redoing this half bathroom with a more modern/contemporary look and I don't know if it would be odd to display these photos across from the toilet. Thanks. Open Question: Trying to cover up metallic gold stars?Okay, I posted this question the other day, but since, I have painted over these stars with white vinyl matt as it is all we had at home. But the bloody stars are still showing through!? I eventually want to paint the room with plain magnolia emulsion. What can I use to cover the stars once and for all and get the magnolia on in time for when my mum gets back from holiday? Will I have to use a white gloss? thanks I did try and sandpaper the stars down before I painted over them! but they wouldn't come off! seeing as I've already painted over them and they're still showing through...should I just buy some gloss and paint the whole thing again? thanks More Recent Articles
