My parents think it shouldn't be black white and red because I have a small room and red would make it look even smaller. Open Question: for interior painting should i use primer if the walls i'm painting are clean, i'm just changing the the color?Open Question: Contractor built our concrete patio over septic tank?We had a stone and concrete patio installed last year. Found out today that part of the patio was built too close to our septic tank.... Part of the patio is directly over part of the tank. I am assuming the contractor should have asked questions, and is in fault. Any advice/opinions? (This also violates county code and may impact selling price of house.) These guys build patios every day. I have one built once in a lifetime. I knew that trees shouldn't be built in my septic field, and knew that there should always be access to pump the tank. However, I did not know that a corner of my patio should not be over a corner of the tank. In my opinion, contractors need to find out this info. (Kinda like calling Miss Utility before digging.) Open Question: How do I remove a stain from a hardwood floor using oxalic acid without over-bleaching?My floors have been completely sanded down and are ready for polyurethane, however an old stain remains. Since the discoloration is in a very noticeable area I would like to remove if possible. However my fear is that I will cause more harm than good in applying wood bleaching agents (oxalic acid). Specifically, I'm concerned that I will lighten the wood too much, as I've been told by my local hardware that this is a possibility. Any advice would be appreciated. Open Question: MDF wood finish question?I have some mdf that i want to put a finish on so it will be smooth. I want to paint it any color, i just want a smooth finish so how should i do it? and what would i need? Open Question: Where can I find print or other window curtains?I'm looking everywhere online but I can't find good curtains. I am getting an OP bedspread (the one from walmart) for my bed, which has browns, tans, oranges, and I want curtains that go with that. It's like palm trees, a sunset, a beach setting type of thing. Does anyone know where I can find some curtains that have that california type of design on them. Like palm trees, a beach, anything tropical that looks like California. All I can find are solid colors. I DON'T care if the colors match, because my floor is a light wood color, and my walls are light blue. Nothing matches in my room.
