Open Question: Need plant ideas for office!?

I work for a small print center at a college and it is in desperate need of some decoration! We have some very large windows near the ceiling, so I thought it would be nice to fill the window sill with some plants. The only problem is that the temperature of the window sill changes throughout the year and the humidity needs to be very specific for our copy machines. The plants we buy need to be able to handle the following requirements.... Temperature: 60 - 87 degrees Farenheit Humidity: < 50% Sunlight: Bright, direct light Water: Can survive 3-4 day weekends without fresh water So what types of potted plants would you recommend for my office area? I appreciate any ideas that you can offer :)

Open Question: How can I cover up open shelving?

My baby is ready to crawl and already getting into things from his walker. We have low open shelves in the living room where our electronics, games, movies and books are stored. The shelves are about 2.5 feet high on one side and a little over a foot on the other. They are open on the front and the back. I've searched high and low for DIY projects to aid this problem but haven't found anything. So, my question is this: what can we do to cover the shelves so baby can't access our stuff, but still have it accessible to us? I'd really like to have some kind of an acrylic cover, acrylic doors or something similar. Can you help? Our shelves are very similar to these found at IKEA: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20116274 They are laid lengthwise on the floor. We have two side-by-side and one more on the top left.

Open Question: Is this too girly for our bedroom?

My fiancee and I recently 'shacked up' and we are redecorating, I LOVE this chandelier but I feel like it might be too sugary for his taste? Especially would appreciate a guy's opinion http://fourgreensteps.com/marketplace/Zia-and-Tia-Shabby-Chic-5-light-chandelier-with-White-rose-shades.html
