Open Question: Advice on designing a "new" 20's kitchen?

I am looking at replacing the base cabinets in my 1928 house. This kitchen is kind of a box kitchen with the cabinets on one side. The sink is centered in the row of cabinets. There is about 4 ft of counter space on each side of the sink. I would like to know what people "envision" when they think of a 20's kitchen. I want to incorporate good, period ideas into my base cabinets. For example, I have an antique gas stove, the faucet that comes out of the wall, and the antique exhaust fan in the ceiling. Some of the ideas I have had are: -Leave the cabinet under the sink open and use a curtain to close off the area. -Use flush mount cabinet doors on the rest of the cabinets. -Use either a farmhouse sink or an undermount kitchen sink. What screams 20's kitchen to you? I am in need of design help!! Thanks for your input!

Open Question: Which is better for resale? A master bath or a main floor bathroom?

We just purchased a home that doesn't have a dedicated master bath. It has a full bath that opens to both the hallway and the master bedroom. we are planning to expand the bathroom and install a double sink, new floors, lights, mirrors. as far as resale would it be better for us to close off the door to the hall and make it a master bath or keep the door allowing a bathroom on that level. The house is a bilevel and upstairs has the master the office/2nd bedroom and an open plan kitchen, dining and living room. Downstairs is another living space, 3/4 bath and a guest bedroom.
