Open Question: What flooring material would look best in my ranch style house in the country?Our home is a fixer upper. It's a basement ranch, not a farmstead or anything like that, but I want to reflect a nostalgic farmhouse feel. I have some antiques, pictures and such. My husband wants a stone look tile. I think it may be too Mediterranean. Other flooring in the house is carpet and hardwood. There is hardwood in the dining room, but it wouldn't look good with the wood cabinets in my kitchen. My appliances are stainless. Cabinet hardware is antiqued bronze, looks almost black. I have a few decorative items that are black and white. I have been stuck on this for a while.
