Open Question: How can I decorate "dungeon" room?

I live in an old stone house, and in it there is a basement. It is windowless, has about two light sources, the walls are half brick and half stone. The ceilings are just a mass of exposed pipes and wires; the floor is concrete. It is wanted to be used for storage (we have a large shelf that holds cleaning supplies and odds and ends); a washing space (white washer-dryer combo); and a craft room (avid sewers! so far we have a desk w/ sewing machine, and a few storage units for fabric. It also has a spare fridge in the corner. The space is depressing!!! It is impossible to work in there as it is dingy, dark, saddening. We really want something bright and happy, but we haven't got a clue how to do it; think creative. We don''t have a lot of money for supplies or anything, but we have considerable supplies already. JUst suggest ideas, but keep in mind money is tight on this project. WE want a space were we can work and be happy, but we don't know how to get light in there, and how to try and conceal the gross pipes and wires. As you can imagine it is frustrating beyond compare. We need your help! Design ideas on how to brighten the space! Thank you.

Open Question: Cool bed room ideas????

I am going to start working over the summer and when I get money make my bed room way better. I want to make my room cool so I can have my friends over(Me and my friends are all 16) and we can party and stay up all night having fun. So far these are the things that will be in it. A mini fridge filled with candy and energy drinks, flat screen plasma tv, ps3(what games would you suggest I buy), speakers for surround sound, some kind of seats for us to sit on(what would you suggest, game chairs or couch or something else), a space cooler( the opposite of a space heater) because my rooms kind of small and with 3-4 boys in it, it will quickly get hot, wifeless inter net and a lap top and also the wireless internet for the ps3. So far thats what I have. Can you guys help me out with other ideas or help me build on the ideas I have thanks!!!
