Open Question: What to do with Flat Couch Cushions?

We purchased a sectional from a mid-line furniture store. We have been sleeping on it. The cushions seem to be losing its fluffiness and shape. I suggested beating the pillows an standing them upright while we are not using them but my hubby thinks this idea is dumb. I want to prove to him that this helps the cushions. But I cant find any thing to support my thinking over the internet. Any suggestions on what to do with the cushions?

Open Question: Old B Vent fireplace...What are my options?

Ok...So I'm feeling really frustrated. My husband and I just bought a house and it's got a 15 year old "B Vented" fireplace (which we weren't aware of) and it's unactractive, to say the least. I had a chimney sweep over today who acted like it would be take Jesus himself to switch it out. He quoted me something like $7,000 to take out an old one and replace it with a new one. He said the walls would have to come with it and the mantle would have to be rebuilt. He also said that if I (God forbid) wanted to change it to an "A Vent" for regular gas or wood, that I'd be looking at tens of thousands of dollars. Am I the only person who has a B vent for a fireplace because he sure made me feel that way. Please help and thank you in advance!

Open Question: Is it more expensive to buy a house or build?

I've been searching the housing market, and it appears I will be dropping between 120-200 thousand on a house that I like. But, I'm wondering how the costs compare to having a house built. Say for example, there is house X. House X is exactly the same regardless if I buy it or build it (having nothing to do with location), which method would be more expensive.

Also, do you have any advice for a rookie upholsterer? Thanks!

Open Question: I've decided to do something fun w/this room...?

that my husband can enjoy, but have a small area for the kids and their toys. . However, have NO idea what to do with the long side walls. I want to make this a gameroom. The room is 14x33. I'm not opposed to paneling or any other textures; it doesn't have to be just paint I am painting the 2 end walls (wall with window & wall with the door) purple & gold argyle (LSU colors). There will be a dry erase board panel in the kids area (markers that can just write on the board of course). Any other ideas? http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r107/tlmcmichael/Gamerm.jpg
