Open Question: What Upgrades Would Add More Value? and more... Open Question: What Upgrades Would Add More Value?Myself and my husband have alotted $10,000 to get upgrades to our home. We already upgraded our appliances, added a gasline to get our gas stove and decided we want granite in the kitchen. we also already have hardwood on the main and tile in our bathrooms so we will not need to upgrade this. Due to our budget we have to decide between the following upgrades: 1) Granite in the main bathroom and ensuite as well 2) Upgrade carpet from standard to a nice berber 3) Upgrade the fireplace surround to the same material as the cabinets instead of the white board that comes around it (the fireplace is in the same room as the kitchen as the downstairs is a open concept design) Which would you choose out of these upgrades? We are also looking at this from a resale point of view because we may have to sell the house in a few years to relocate to another city.
