For a finishing touch are black and white tiles over that. Open Question: how do you mud corner bead and drywall?Open Question: Can I paint my carpet?I was in a home improvement store one day when an employee dumped about 100 carpet samples onto the floor near checkout, and announced they were ten cents apiece. I grabbed a dozen of them in varying shades of tan, and created a very unique area rug for my living room. But it needs a little more contrast. I want to make just two of the samples a chocolate brown, so I looked into carpet dyes. This is such a small project that I don't want to spend much. Could I just paint the rug? If so, what kind of paint would be best? This rug is just under and around my coffee table, and these particular areas wouldn't be stepped on or sat on, so I don't care if it's a bit hard to the touch. I'm more concerned about how well it would adhere to the carpet and stay put. I should have said, even though the rug areas are mostly under the coffee table, the table is clear glass, so it would show. Open Question: Can a small house be painted white with black shutters like the English Colonial style and still look good?I am looking at this small 2 bed one bath 1949 house with a side door front entrance. I'm going to have to remodel eventually but I really love the look of the white houses with the black shutters and the two topiary trees on either side of the front door. Is that English Colonial Style? I couldn't find that style online. I am wondering if it would look good because the house is small and there is not much front garden. Also what color roof looks best because I need to redo the roof. Thank you sooo much for your input.
