Open Question: How should I keep my room country?

I have lived my whole life in the country (the middle of nowhere) and am redoing my room. I've found some really cool modern furniture and lighting, but I don't want to loose my country roots. I was thinking of getting some of our old picture frames and putting farm pictures in them. What do you think I should do?

Open Question: How can I paint or darken the color of a fake brick wall?

We have a fake brick wall in our kitchen of our new house. We actually love the look and it works well with the design of the room. We do not want to actually remove it. The problem is it is really faded and is almost a peach color. We want it to be a real red brick color or even a tan brick color but have no idea how to go about painting it. Any ideas?
