Open Question: What are those flat glass bead things called?

I've seen them in vases and things - they're like beads, but they don't have holes in them. So they're more like drops of glass, really. Rounded on top and flat on the bottom, usually circular or ovoid shape? I'm trying to find them online and have no idea what they're called, so I don't know what words to search for.

Open Question: Wood flooring should run which way in a hall?

We want to put down wood flooring in our hall. The hall is 26 feet long and 3 feet wide. It has one opening on one side and two on the other. Also both ends are open. I feel side to side would be easier but what is proper?

Open Question: How do I decorate around a huge canopy bed that I can't get rid of?

We bought this huge king size canopy bed (very expensive) a few years ago on a whim and now I think it overwhelms my bedroom. Any suggestions on what to do with this bed or how to decorate around it to make the room seem cozier? I love the color of my bedroom, but now regret this bed purchase. My husband refuses to get anything else. Help!
