I have 2 large breed dogs (65-70lbs) and 1 small chihuahua. I REALLY want to replace my carpet w/ a solid hardwood floor in a very dark color (a black cherry color). I wanted to hear if anyone has done similar or had similar and had issues w/ their dogs nails scratching the wood up a lot. Or, if you know solutions (besides making the dogs outdoor dogs or declawing) to prevent wood damage.Im just interested in the overall opinion of wear/tear/upkeep of solid wood flooring while having pets (IE: large breed dogs that like to run through the house at times).
