I re-painted all the rooms. I want to make sure the ceiling flows with the crown molding. The ceiling & crown molding used to be a off white. Also, websites work awesome too! :) Open Question: Preparing a house to sell: Is re-painting in order?My home was built in 1984 and has an open floor plan. I re-painted it about three years ago. I have gold (Laura Ashley gold # 3 if you're familar with paint colors) in the living room, dining room, and one wall of the kitchen. The color of my hallway, and the other wall of my kitchen are another Laura Ashley color - which I can't recall the name - and can only describe as something along the lines of burgandy or wine. (The family room in the back is still the same off-white color it was when we moved in in 1990 and still must be painted.) The two colors match well and no one wall is painted two colors in the middle of the wall, so it flows well. The gold is subtle; however, the burgandy/wine color is dark. It relfects my tastes and looks nice to me, but.....since everyone has different decorating preferences, what would be the opinion of *most* prospective buyers? Will the dark paint turn them off?
