Yesterday, my neighbor came to help me clean and redecorate my 4 yr. old son's bedroom. While I was out back painting a bookcase, my friend was inside cleaning his room. I walked in to discover she had mopped the floor with Pledge Orange Furniture Polish. So now his unfinished wood flooring is saturated with this stuff. It is now very dark and wet looking and, of course, slippery. I am soooo upset about it. But am trying to move quickly to solution. How do I get this stuff up without sanding all over again ? Especially since now my house is fully furnished and I would practically have to move in order to re sand the floor. I have read about using vinegar. I'm about to try mopping the floor with it, but am unsure about saturating the floor further. Please help with any suggestions or advise or recommendations. Or info on using the vinegar. Open Question: What is the going price to have a new floor put in a kitchen & a sheetrock ceiling? The kitchen is small 8' 10" wide & 11 & 1/2' long. This is an old house (80+ years). I was told that 2 layers of plywood will have to be put down to build it up to the level of the original cabinets. The wood beams in the ceiling are wet from a continuous leak and had the ceiling tile warping. So now the entire ceiling will have to be torn down and replaced. What do you figure this will cost me? Thank you for your help.
