Open Question: Need help with decisions about granite blacksplash. No experience here!! :)?

My husband and I are replacing the tile on our kitchen countertops with granite. Currently there is a 6 inch tile backsplash, and our granite company told us that the standard granite backsplash is 4 inches. What do we do with the extra 2 inches that won't be textured to match the rest of the wall? We don't really want to deal with tiling above the 4 inch granite backsplash. A friend of ours suggested that we put a piece of 2 inch decorative wooden molding above the backsplash to hide it. We could either get molding that matches the cupboards or the chair rail in the rest of the kitchen or paint it to match the color of the wall. Do you think that would look good? Or are there any other options that would fit a tight budget? Also, I need to talk with the granite company today, but will the granite also cover the edge of where the tile overhang on the counters? Thanks so much for your help :)

Open Question: How can I make my room really cosy? (please read description)?

1 or 2 of my friends have really cosy rooms and each time I wish mine was like their's. I want to arrange the furniture in my bedroom to make it cosy. My younger sister has a smaller room than me so I guess that's why It's cosy, however, we have double-beds because they came with the flat meaning that we can't get smaller beds which i wish I could coz then I would ask to swap rooms with my sister and have a cosy room! But, sadly, I have to keep the big bed :(. anyway I would like to know where my furniiture should go to make my room cosy. please remeber that i can't paint walls, buy new furniture or any of that stuff i just have to use what i have. So that you get an idea of my room, I have a wide window at the end of my room and it's kinda high up. I have a big double bed, a wardrobe, and here are links to SOME of the furniture I have :) http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6091099/Trail/searchtext%3ESHELVES.htm unfortunately that is the only like i could find but hopefuly it helps? Open Question: Painting on top of a once mouldy wall..advice please?

I have had an extractor fan fitted into my bathroom to improve a black mould/mildew problem. I have used a mould and mildew cleaner to remove mould off a patch of wall that is papered. Can I now use bathroom paint on top of this or will it leach through?
