Open Question: Replacing tile countertop with granite...removing the tile?If you are going to replace a tile countertop with granite, what needs to be removed in addition to the tile? I noticed that our tile (which i assume is standard) hangs down about 2-3 inches on the edges. How do you remove the tile and have it not show once the granite is in place? Is there a sheet of board underneat the tile that you have to remove as well? Open Question: How much should I expect to spend on painting our two bedroom apartment?We already checked with our landlord and it's ok to paint the inside of our apartment as long as they are reasonable colors. We decided on doing something similar to adobe colors, to give the apartment a southwest feeling (we already got some of the decoration). But we have never painted a house. How much should I expect to spend on the painting, the tools, tapes, and all the stuff required for this task? Again, this is a two bedroom apartment and are thinking about painting the whole place except the bathroom and the kitchen. We are thinking about using three diferent colors for different areas.
