Open Question: What is the purpose of rugs?

Personally, I think they are kind of dumb. They get all messed up, are hard to wash and attract dog hair like no other. Do you think it makes a house look cheesy with no rugs in the bathrooms, entryways etc?

Open Question: What colors should I paint my bedroom?

I just moved into a condo, and I painted my room a sky blue with a light yellow accent wall. My old room used to be completely sky blue as well, and I'm getting a bit tired of the same shade of blue. I also feel like I'm falling asleep in a baby's nursery every night. I really want to repaint my room, thinking maybe a much lighter, much closer to white than my color already (I have all white bedding), and instead of a completely different color accent wall, maybe some sort of stencil pattern on the wall that my bed is on. Also possibly a really light color mix of blue and purple. Does anyone have any ideas? I also have light wood colored furniture that doesn't really flow with the yellow accent wall right now.

Open Question: Bedroom shelving - deep cupboards?

I have built in cupboards in my bedroom: 3.5 ft wide with a depth of 2 1/2 ft -- height of (3) 1-ft shelves. I currently fold my sweaters, sweatshirts, etc and stack them with a front row and a back row -- accordingly to seasons, but I know this isn't the best way -- as I look to get the item, they get all shuffled and messed. I am on a tight budget, but would appreciate basket/container ideas to best shelf my clothing with such depth. Appreciate all inexpensive storage solutions!

Open Question: I finished my interior decorating course: now what?

I've finished my interior decorating course and I have no idea how I go about to gaining experience. It's a bit hard cause I did "decorating" so some interior design firms are a bit snobby about that. I've asked some companies via email if they do work experience or looking for apprentice but they don't seem to get back to me. Should I just go up front to the companies and ask them straight up? Problem is I don't know how to ask without sounding like a lame. Is apprentice the right word to ask them? And I have more questions on how you go around to starting a design business....I'm so confused :( please anyone help with experience!

Or if you don't want to link things, at least which colors would match it? Thank you =]
