Open Question: Granite vs silestone counters?

Alight sometime later this year I will enhance the kitchen. Seems to be a bit of a divided debate between natural granite counter tops vs the manufactured quartz. Trying to decide which way to go.

Open Question: Making my room vintage and what not Help!?

Hi I am redoing my room this summer **2 months!** I am NOT a girly girl at all! I HATE pink, and I play video games all the time, but I love love love vintage. I want to redo my room, as I've had it purple with butterfly's since I was 7. ewww. I'm thinking 30's, 40's, or 50's. I have this awesome vintage dresser my mom gave me, that she had when she was a kid. I don't like pink or floral print, I mean I do not want a floral bedding or wall paper. I plan on doing my walls a solid color anyways. I just can't choose one I don't want pink, white, black, tan, or blue walls. I was considering orange, yellow, a pale coral orange yellow color, or something.Mostly considering a pale lime green color with one wall black though. I would love your help. so thanks in advance:]]

Open Question: Do I need to prime over sample paint areas I painted on my wall? (6 areas, 2 sq ft each)?

Current wall is light beige. We painted 6 sample paints, each over a 2 square foot area. The sample paint colors range from light shades to "medium" shades. Do I need to prime over these sample paint areas before I paint the whole wall our selected new color (which is a lighter shade that some of the samples) ? we're just trying to make sure it won't end up looking patchy where you can see the 2 sq foot area of the darker paint sample underneath
