Open Question: wood header vs engineered header?I have a 6 foot opening from my house to the extension that was added on the plans call for 2 2x 12 s the opening is on the outside bearing wall and the house is a ranch type , Is their that big of a reduction in size using engineered headers ? I would like to have the most clearance . this will go back to the architect for the change if theirs a big difference I'm just looking for a general idea for now Open Question: Which floors are better?I've heard marble counter tops and floors are amazing but they stain. I've heard granite counter tops and floors are substantial but they let out a harmful gas from within the earth, since they're a metamorphic rock. Help? Open Question: My posters are all falling off the walls?All of them are hanging by 2 or 3 corners. I don't understand what's going on.... when I moved here in the fall I couldn't get them to stick with tape or ANYTHING (the walls are plaster, not even nails can penetrate). I eventually opted for a hot glue gun which worked well up until now. Do you think it's the change in weather? (Increase in heat or humidity??). Or is it typical to have to re-hot glue gun things after a while like this? Should I re-hot glue gun everything, or try something else?? Open Question: Can a company charge me a restocking fee in California if I cancel the order before receiving the items?I ordered wood flooring and cancelled by phone 1 hour later. Then I sent a cancellation letter to the Company the next day. The Company certainly did not ship me any product in that 24hr period (they told me nothing would ship for 5-7 days), yet they insist they are due a "restocking fee." There's nothing to restock!!
