He wants his room to be a camping theme. In other words, he wants a tent to sleep in, things with boats, fishing, etc. I would love for him to have a tent to sleep in, but I also want to put his mattress in the tent so he won't have to sleep on the floor!! Is this doable? How big of a tent would I have to get? Can you even put a tent up in your house without having to stake it down? Any ideas would be great! Thanks! Open Question: Has anyone got a highset/doublestorey house they have added split level room onto?We are wanting to add a lounge-room onto our high-set house. We have built in underneath, and do not have internal stairs as yet. The plan is to build a 5mx6m room out the front that will be connected to the rest of the house via the stairs thus creating a split level home. The reason for this is one it seems it will be more cost effective and second it will make the house look different to every other house in our area. I would really like to see photo's of what other people have done with similar properties and also and problems they have encountered. Cheers Open Question: Can carpeting reduce the noise I hear from my neighbor BELOW me?Hello, I live in a nice 2 bedroom apartment with wooden floors. I have a GREAT DEAL on the rent, but I'm now discovering why the rent is somewhat low. The floor is like a sheet of paper. Ironically, I'm on the upper level and I'm hearing noise from the tenant below me! He's an older and boderline psychotic guy who listens to his t.v. WAAAAAY TOO LOUD! I'm talking surround sound system you should only use in a mansion. I'm a little over it, especially since I've asked him a couple times to be a little aware of his t.v. listening. So I'm thinking of resorting to carpeting to buffer the noise. However, I'm reading online about carpeting tactics to reduce noise, but most of the articles and tips are to reduce the noise for the person below you! Common sense tells me it will help me out, too, but now I'm wondering. Does anyone know? Have any of you had this type of noise experience from the person below you? The bathroom is covered with sponge painted butterflies and the paint is very thick and a deep burgundy/purple. They have to go! But I am afraid if I simply paint over them you will still be able to see them due to how thick they are I think all you would be doing is making different colored butterflies. I have been told to try kilz over them then paint would that work? PLEASE HELP!
