Open Question: How hot do candle warmers get?

I'm trying to talk my parents into letting me get a candle warmer, but they're concerned about how hot they get.

Open Question: How to make a basement bedroom look more feminine?

I didn't want to share a room with my younger sister anymore so, sometime around October, I moved my whole bedroom into the basement. It is better than sharing a room but the basement still needs a little bit of help. The ceiling is somewhat open- you can see pipes and wires and cords which I have been strictly instructed not to touch or hang things on. The walls are made of wood- but not a smooth kind. It's in many needle thin strips. There are nail heads and areas to hang things all over. The floor is a green and white tile that is falling apart. I have a small bed, a large desk, a tall dresser, a plastic crate/ nightstand, a small TV on a thin stand, dozens of posters which I have not put up, a bowel chair, and a full sized refrigerator. I want it to look neater and more feminine but it's very difficult with the way the room is designed. I plan on getting a carpet for my birthday but nothing is set in stone. Any suggestions? And, yes, I do have an EGRESS window. There is more than one escape route in case of fire.

Open Question: Ideas for inexpensive centerpieces for a semi-formal fund raising dinner?

I am tasked with creating inexpensive centerpieces for a semi-formal fund raising dinner for a therapeutic riding (horses) facility that helps adults and children with special needs as well as at risk youth. The theme is "Rope the Moon". The dinner is in early October. There are no specific colors needed and I would like to stay away from balloons if possible. I would love to hear your creative ideas for centerpieces! I've already thought of using candles and metallic star garland but would like some different ideas if you have them. Thank you in advance.
