Open Question: This paint won't come off!!? and more... Open Question: This paint won't come off!!?So I am moving out of my parents house and I am taking some of the furniture there. My mom is giving me my dad's desk from when he was in elementary school but she has since painted it white (originally it is just wood) and I am trying so hard to get the paint off. She doesn't remember what kind of paint it was so, I don't either. I tried sanding it with a power sander but that was not working except on the edges. Next I tried some kind of liquid that you brush on and the paint just can be scraped off. This really helped but I'm afraid if I continue to do so that the wood will be ruined. And the scraping scratches it up. I am just trying to get all of the paint off without damaging the desk. I don't know what kind of wood it is either. It is kind of pink and brown. And also, do you have any recommendations to "finish" it with once the paint comes off? Thank you so much! :) Open Question: i am looking for an architectural opening senior level in Goa?it could be as an interior designer, architect or project manager freelancing or full/part time job. Open Question: What kind of "detailed drawings" are needed for a remodeling permit?I'm wanting to remodel my kitchen and laundry room. Nothing drastic, just taking out a short wall, moving the water and gas hookups, and putting in new cabinets. My county's office for code enforcement goes into great detail on their website about what is required for the permits to build a house, but just says "detailed drawings" are required to obtain a remodeling permit. I'm a drafting technician by trade, and had two years of architectural drawing/codes before I changed majors to industrial drafting. I'm confident I can make any number and degree of detailed drawings they could ask for. I just don't want to waste the time, effort, and probably embarrassment to make some elaborate 20-page presentation with elevations, wall sections, electrical plans, etc. if all they're expecting is some rough doodle on a napkin.
