My husband refuses to replace it with another woodburner. He has suggested gas claiming that they are "ventless." Is that accurate? Open Question: What sort of underlay can I use for carpet after removing tile?My husband and I are remodeling our home and the bedrooms all had this hideous tile. My husband got the tile up but it was a bear of a job. The floor is now very uneven with rocky patches of thinset. Will normal carpet padding cover this and make for a nice even floor or should something else be used? Short of a jackhammer I'm not sure how we could get the vestiges of the concrete.
