Open Question: Any builders of roofers out there? and more... Open Question: Any builders of roofers out there?We bought a house with a flat wood built patio cover, it measures 24' x 24'. Standing under the cover looking up we see the 6" side slats of wood (tongue and groove) on top of that wood is sheets of plywood, on top of that shingles, that someone tried sealing with a black roll on type material. The roof started leaking last year, it is leaking down in between the slats, leaving mold/mildew marks (where the water is dripping through) so the mildew or mold is sandwiched between the 4 x 8 sheets of plywood, and the 6" slats. Can we tear off all the roofing material down to the 4 x 8 sheets of plywood, not remove the plywood (under this plywood is the mold/mildew) and just rebuild the top correctly so it does not leak anymore, if we do not remove the sheets of plywood, what will happen in between the plywood and 6" slats of wood? This flat roof top is in FULL sun all summer long, will it dry out killing the mold/mildew? thank you!!!!!!!!!
