Open Question: Black and Brown furniture? and more... Open Question: Black and Brown furniture?My apt is open concept. The living room is basically the same space as the dining. I will have an espresso brown coffee table/end tables and an espresso tv stand... but I really love these bar stools that are black. They would be pretty much in the same space at the counter top in the kitchen. Would this look bad since the living room stuff is brown? Open Question: Installation cost: cast iron vs. fiberglass bathtub?I got my estimates and I thought I was ready to go. But now, I want to get a cast iron tub instead of a fiberglass/acrylic tub. The cast iron is a LOT heavier. So I suppose the installation cost will be quite a bit more. Anyone know how much more an average plumber will charge? (Not total cost, just difference between cast iron and fiberglass) Open Question: How can I quickly get rid of the smell of paint in my room?I just painted my room, and I'm really nauseous today and the smell is making it worse. I'm hanging out in other parts of the house for now, but I really want to sleep in my own bed. What can I do to help get rid of or at least lessen the smell? I opened all the windows and sprayed Febreeze, but the paint smell is still there. The chair railing will match the baseboards and crown molding which is an off white (Benjamen Moore mascarpone). There is a small "alcove" or setback which will house a buffet table that I want to paint a dark cherry color to give an accent. The question is do we keep the chair rail in this area the "off white" or paint it all the dark cherry color? I'm afraid if we paint the chair railing that goes through this spot the off white that it will look like a "skunk's" back! What do you think? P.S. Thanks to cuthberta for your previous answer but think you didn't understand that we are painting the rest of the chair railing the off white and not the golden color.
