Open Question: Where can I buy deckchair canvas / deckchair fabrics?Looking to recover deckchairs and need some bright and bold striped fabrics Open Question: How to refinish an oak floor? Help please!?When we first moved in 5 years ago, we pulled up all the carpet in our house and refinished the 100 year old oak floors. Here's what we did: Scraped off all of the old finish using stain remover, sanded the floors using a sander, bleached out the pet stains on the oak floor from the previous owners (with a specialized hardwood floor bleaching kit), restained the floor, allowed it to dry for a few days, put on 3 coats of water based polyurethane using a lambswool applicator and allowing 24 hours for drying between each coat and scuffing each coat before applying the next coat etc, and waited almost a week after finishing the floors before walking on them and moving into the house. The problem is, almost immediately after moving in, the polyurethane began to flake up coming off sticking to the bottom of your feet and if a drop of water got on the floors it'd like dissolve the stuff and now 5 years later the floor is almost completely devoid of the original polyurethane coat we put on it. What the heck happened? We need to refinish them again and hiring out the job is not an option as we're normal people and don't make a ton of money and can't afford anything but doing it ourselves. What did we do wrong and how can we make it so that the polyurethane won't flake up again after refinishing the floors this time around? Thanks! Open Question: 'concrete sill' vs. 'wood sill' for a sliding patio door?We have a brick 2-story home and winters. We are trying to get a finished a cutout for a new sliding patio door, but the quote says 'poured concrete sill'.
